Track Booster Club: Meeting Minutes (3/4/09)
Present: Lisa Evanko, Scott Kately, Laura Fuller, Mark Fuller, Bruce Kent, Lisa Yediny, Sue Sigafoos, Lisa Peterson, Jennifer Watson, Dan Welker, Dana Welker
Mr. Amato (Athletic Administrator) was present at the beginning of the meeting to update us on the track.
Mr. Amato (Athletic Administrator) was present at the beginning of the meeting to update us on the track.
- Track needs 2-3 days of 40 degree weather for the last coat, lines, etc. The company is from Lancaster, hopefully they will get here next week (they had been schedule for this past Monday).
- The track will not be ready for the first home meet thus the meet scheduled for the 30th is now on April 22nd.
- The first home meet will be on April 6th.
- Since we are opening a new track the budget was increased in order to purchase new hurdles, pole vault, bags, shot puts, poles, portable PA system, canopy for the announcer
- Eventually, they would like to get benches.
- The throwing area will not be ready this year so the athletes will be throwing at North Campus. However, the area on the inside of the track is large enough for the javelin. So, the javelin athletes will be participating there.
- The seating capacity is a tight 250. If we can show the need, maybe more seating in the future.
- Tents could be put up for Boosters, etc.
- There will eventually be a new fence which will run up to the Clipper fields and basically encompass the school property.
- Items athletes need to participate in the sport should be provided by the school (uniforms, equipment, etc.).
- There is a new proposal on the table for a centrally located "team area". It would include team rooms, concessions, bathrooms, trainer facility, etc.
- The school is open to the dedication of items. For example the score board=McDonalds. We can put up a plaque...anything we think we'd like to do we should present it and see what happens.
- Look for the "track packet" that came home with the kids yesterday (March 3).
- All students must sign the "Code of Conduct".
- Currently 79 boys and 57 girls are on the team.
- "Coaches Night" is on March 10th at NAMS. Some questions include: Can we have emails on sign-up forms, could we get an "order of events", could we have a parent from each area responsible for photos , senior car decorating, etc. and a question as to how the athletes really know what they should be doing (i.e. pre-season meeting?).
- Lisa Evanko will check with Tim Cunningham as to the uniform situation (do we have enough).
- Lisa Evanko will check with Dana Price and middle school (Joanne) to see how/if we can get fundraiser information to the staff through email, or flyers.
- The fundraiser basket will have the option of a tag.
- Mrs. Moyer (Jordan's Mom) will take care of senior photos through next week.
- We will have a dedication ceremony for the new track during the first meet scheduled for April 6th. Since it is so close, it will be simple (speech/ribbon).
- Anyone have any suggestions as to what to name the new track/who to name the track after? Lisa Evanko is looking into past track coaches and athletes.
- Lisa Evanko is checking with Ken Rolek as to expenses incurred during winter track.
- The Booster Club will purchase a performance t-shirt for each coach, as well as a jacket for new coach Ms. Rotz.
- Motion by Dana Welker to approve $300 for coach Lauren Miller, second by Lisa Yediny, approved.
- Scott and Lisa Evanko are taking care of purchasing gifts for seniors. Seniors will receive a nice pen and a gift card.
- Deb Schaninger has been nominated to handle the membership information.
- The end of the season banquet will be held April 29th from 6-8PM. Mivajo's will cater. Hopefully we'll make enough on the fundraiser to keep costs down for the banquet.
- Jarrett will produce the track DVD.
- Tim Cunningham will plan a picnic for the track athletes in May.

Welcome to the official website for the Nazareth Track and Cross Country Booster Club. We are still working to get all the bugs out, but we think most of the site should work well for you. If something is not working right for you, please let us know.
The goal of this site is to provide up-to-date information on the Nazareth Track and Cross Country teams, as well as special events, records, et cetera. Take a look around and learn about the coaches, our goals and mission, and remember to check back often for updates and changes.
